Did you know that Winterberry is one of Canada’s largest primary care clinics? We serve about the same number of patients as a medium sized emergency room every year. That’s why we’re constantly making improvements and putting innovative ideas into action. We’re one of the only clinics where you can receive care from a wide variety of healthcare providers. Additionally, our “same-day” appointments mean that you are seen quickly where needed. I’m proud of our Winterberry team and I am so glad that you are patient. Thank you!

How to watch the solar eclipse safely, a sock celebration and our Team Showcase!
As springs bursts forward our clinic is also bursting with activity! As one of the country’s largest and most efficient clinics we are proud of the work we do in the care of our patients and their families while also making time to support and help our community. This month our team jumped in with both feet to mark Down Syndrome Day; bringing colour and joy to the clinic! Please read below for important updates and get to know one of our team members in our monthly Team Showcase. And … happy spring 🙂
We’re building Winterberry for you.
We jumped all in for Down Syndrome Awareness Day!
When it comes to jumping all in, our team really rocked their socks off! To celebrate and mark Down Syndrome Awareness Day our team took part in the Socks On theme and came to work all decked out. Some team members wore one colourful pair of socks while others piled them on with layers and layers of colours and designs!

How to watch the solar eclipse
On Monday, April 8, 2024, the City of Hamilton will be in the path of a total solar eclipse. From approximately 2 pm to 4:30 pm, Hamilton will be in “the path of totality,” where the sun appears to be entirely covered by the moon for a short period.
People in the path of totality will be able to see sun features generally not visible during this period. Another total eclipse will not be seen in Hamilton for another 120 years.
With Hamilton being one of the few communities in Southern Ontario in the path of totality, we expect that the number of people in Hamilton will increase to view the eclipse, resulting in more traffic, distraction, and congestion, increasing the risk for motor vehicle accidents.
The City’s Tourism & Culture Division has designated viewing sites for visitors. The preferred viewing sites were selected for visitors to Hamilton based on their capacity to accommodate large crowds, accessibility features, availability of amenities, and suitability for eclipse viewing. We encourage Hamiltonians to experience the eclipse from their homes. For more info visit:

Helping You To Know Us Better
Meet Rachel! Our new HR Manager.
Each month we get together with one of our Winterberry team members for a quick Q+A so our patients and community can get to know us all a little better! This month we caught up with Rachel, Human Resources (HR) Manager as she has recently been promoted to a new role in the clinic.
Congratulations on your new role Rachel! Can you share with us your new job title?
My new job title is Human Resources Manager.
What is your background?Â
I originally completed my degree in Business Management, then went to work for a large childcare organization after school, where I slowly moved from an accounting role into an HR role. While I worked there, I completed my Human Resources diploma online and once I completed that, I fully moved into HR and payroll role there. To read the full Q+A click here.
